it’s insane how the olfactory has a direct connection to emotional memory.

One of the strongest connections I believe.
It's crazy how sitting in a MK4 Jetta will transport me right back to high school lol.

I like Fridays in my work area. A local McDonald’s that shares a lot with a strip mall has what I think is an impromptu car meet up and around 1p all the classics start hitting the city. Heavy on the US muscle cars of which I once owned a 72 chevelle. But also some early model fords and the big finned out 50’s cars. I just admire them driving around during the day there is a stunning 4-4-2 and a barracuda but I’m always driving can’t get pictures.

Now someone in my town picked up a Tesla plaid which I don’t see many of. Frequently he is getting on the highway same time as me in the AM and last week I was right behind him when he opened it up on the entrance ramp which is damn near a perfect .25 mile stretch just a slight curve but I was in awe at that thing. They truly are a beast off the line. So sorry no pics as I was moving just some very nice sights in my brain.

Saw this LTW at the local Cars & Coffee several weeks ago - so cool to see one in the metal. It was all decked out for track use...and also totally spotless! I understand the conflict...

Pretty neat. Although I'm not sure I'm a fan of the wheel switch.
For me, that's a car that needs to be kept original. Looks good though!

nice looking Square! I’m on the hunt for one as we speak. How well do you know these cars? I might need to pick your brains about them at some point..

Two spaces down from the BMW was this guy 😀

This is a DC/Virginia area C&C get together that yes, if you closed your ears, could probably be anywhere in the world with the variety of machinery that shows up. A lot of US-based meetups are typically a high % of Detroit muscle but not this one -- it's a good mix.

I'm with you; I was conflicted about how this was set up -- definitely for visual effect. I think the wheels work when you see it person, but yeah, I wouldn't mess with something so special.

As an M guy I assumed the e36m LW was not made for the US market. Turns out I was wrong.

love the caprice or roadmaster wagon lol!!! That’s great!

glad to see C&C is fully out on the east coast. The original C&C started a few miles down PCH from me then got thrown out due to stupidity.

then it moved to Irvine when Ford graciously allowed it to happen at the Ford High End Brand HQ next to the Mazda Design center. Jag/LR/AM/Volvo and a few others. That building was then sold and is the Current Taco Bell HQ after Ford sold all of those brands off.

TB allowed it for awhile then idiots ruined it again. C&C then stopped for a few years. Alot if the intro to Chasing Classic Cars was filmed at that location and my buddies Z can be seen in that intro.

I guess I better! Yes, it appears you are correct as the vanity plates gave it away. After reading the back story of how this car came to be...wow, a bonafide, modified track machine that also happens to be spotless. I take back my "visual effect" comment humbly and with some shame...I was duped at just how clean this car was. I'm new here, so I don't know you Mike, but you have a truly awesome machine. Hope to run into you and White Lightning one day!

I really want an E30 vert.....
....with an S50 swap.
I like the cut of your jib sir!

my dream has been to do an e9 with an s54, but the e30 with an s50 is a close third after a 2002 with a s50.

Having owned an E9 for many years, that 3.0l with a pair of Weber carbs is an intoxicating experience of sounds, feels and smells. I wouldn’t want to change that experience.

I agree… but drive an s54…

8k redline and builds power the entire time. Docile under 4K. 333hp and 278 lbf won’t over drive the e9. I think it would be a hair to much for an e30 and overkill on a 2002.
