Hi all. I received a new bracelet recently from a great member here. In new unused condition all sealed up. Loving it till today when it fell off my wrist. My pristine Moonwatch now has a character scar on the bezel. First mark in 6 months for a daily worn watch is not too bad I feel. It is a Omega 1380/237 which buckled close very well for the first week then the clasp opener if you will wants to stay open. Looking at the spring it is in 2 pieces and wonder if it should be in one piece. Any body have the same bracelet could you please take a look and determine if it is 1 or 2 piece spring? Thanks for looking.[IMG] [IMG] [IMG][IMG]

    I have three of these bracelets. A 20, 22, and 24mm.

In two of them it looks like there is one spring, in one, there is two springs.

One the end of each spring there should be part of the spring that over hangs to push the clasp closed. I can see in your pic that the one on the top side is there, but what about the one on the bottom side? I circled them in red.

The second pic is the two springs, but in my other two bracelets it appears there is just one spring.

These are nice bracelets, BUT, they are tricky to lock on and can appear closed when you push the end in the clasp, when in fact it is not locked in. You need push the end in firm and double check : ALWAYS.

The new style mesh clasp is much better.

Mine is the 20mm and the spring is in two pieces. While the clasp door will no longer shut all the way the spring ends provide no pressure to close it shut.

Thanks! I called Otto earlier to find out it is a one piece spring which is not replaceable do to the fact the bar is welded in place. I found a site to have a spring made but the welded bar is beyond me.

They told me I would need the newer mesh as well. That I had no option with mine other than a new clasp.

I was able to use my mesh from my bracelet similar to the one you have on my Ploprof PUSH clasp and it worked fine.

^ Thanks guys. It's odd that Ofrei told me something different as I would have went for the newer clasp so I don't go through this again. Now I have a replacement ordered. Maybe I'll call back today and see about changing that order. Thanks for all the replies.

If you are going to throw that old clasp away, please think of me ;)

Also, the pins in the old style clasp won't work in push clasp. And the bigger issue with the setup above, the smallest size the bracelet will go is 7.33. Since I am 7.25 I have to use old style clasp or cut one row of mesh links. I have used a dremel to cut mesh in past, it is a pain.

Stainless vs. dremel. Dremel wins but only after MUCH sweat ;)
