Sharing this new arrival Such a cool watch made with noble intentions - The Citizen Shine - is a “braille” watch that Citizen made for the visually impaired in the 1960s. It’s a well designed watch, aesthetically and functionally.

The pusher is to pop the crystal open so that one can touch the markers, hands and dial:

I'd noticed many fine condition hunter case pocket watches with no crystal up for bids years ago. I suspect at least some of these had once belonged to a blind person. Not purpose made but used for the purpose. So long as the 12 o'clock position would be obvious because of the crown braile markers would have helped but with practice not entirely necessary.

Saw a few Russian braile watches awhile back. The dial faces looked to be a thick white shiny plastic, easy to clean and not subject the wear. No visible numeral markers IIRC.
