ยทSince I collect Citizen Watches, I thought it would be entertaining to pick up a citizen wall clock. I found this one on eBay and purchased it for a decent price. Of course it was barely running so I sent it to Harry at TS o'clock and he did a full-service on it
Harry overhauled the movment.
1. Cleaned it in an ultrasonic bath for about an hour. He tore it down completely, cleaned a second time in the ultrsonic for another hour,
2. bushings (installing 3 new bushings) and pivots (polishing 6 pivots in a jewelers lathe) were inspected,
3. both mainsprings were "stretched" and then repacked using a mainspring winding machine.
4. Movement was then rebuilt and reassembled, lubricated and adjusted,
5. installed back into case, run and time adjusted for a few days.
The clock has been keeping phenomenal time. It's been running about 2 seconds today. Which is impressive for a forty or so year old clock.
