Up for sale, a Citizen Chrono Master ACSS2929-Y 1967. The Chrono Master is a ‘high-end’ watch that first appeared in Citizen’s line-up in 1967. Although it was not the first of Citizen’s watches to include chronometer grade movements, since it was preceded by the hand wound ‘Chronometer’ (1962), it featured a range of models in both hand-wind and automatic forms, and has probably become Citizen’s most recognized high grade vintage watch, especially since modern versions have also been produced. Although there are other high-end lines by Citizen, including the Chronometer and models in the Leopard line-up, the Chrono Master is probably the best known. In the case beats the Chronometer grade Citizen calibre automatic 5240 with 33 jewels, beating at 18,000 bph and can be hand winded. With a large case size of 35.4mm without crown and 41.5mm lugs, still sharp in unpolished condition that doesn’t come around to often. The crown is original signed “C”. Fantastic factory original clean dial and hands with both day at 12 and date window at 3, working as they should. Case back is in lovely condition with its unscratched unpolished gold medallion eagle . The movement is clean, functioning as it should, service history unknown. Mineral crystal is slightly domed with a concave inner surface, no visible scratches.
