From time to time I come across remarkable short films on watches, watchmaking, and watch fashion that I think many other watch lovers would enjoy viewing also. I thought it would be nice to make a repository on this Forum to keep and share each others' finds.

I'd like to start off with this short film made by Jaeger LeCoultre. Yes, it was made for promotional purposes, but it's beautifully done...and...I just really like it. Amusez-vous bien!

Here's another purely promotional film, but I give it such high marks for clever script that it must be seen. The watch is for real, but only available in 18k White Gold and thus pretty expensive.

    "One App: Time"

    "No Phone,
    No Messaging,
    No Sketches,
    No Heartbeat."

"Get a life. Upgrade to a mechanical watch."

If you've accidentally ingested poison or a foreign object, just watch this. No need to do the fingers-in-the-throat thing.

Addendum: Just to be clear, it's not the idea of deer hunting that I find distasteful in this advert (I have hunted and eaten many deer in my lifetime); it's the absurdity of needing a watch to kill a deer...and an appallingly hideous watch at that! This advert is perfectly Putin-esque.

I think after watching the previous video, it's necessary to clear the palette.

Palate cleansed and pronunciation controversy settled once and for all. Nice.

If the JLC shorts don't make you want to buy one, you must own one already. Very well done and great idea for a thread.

Love this video. I saw one a few months back by Grand Seiko showing the painstaking lengths they go to in producing the grand seiko line.....a week later I owned one.

This one is kind of fun from an engineering point of view. How a watch that was designed to go to 12,000m (40,000ft) came to life. I don't think James Cameron was actually wearing the watch during the interview, as it would be like wearing a stainless steel bagel on your wrist.

Maybe this one? It's pretty good. Probably way more shown of the manufacturing process than Rolex or Omega would ever allow to be shown.

I've often wished we could get @Archer or another watchmaker to agree to a top down webcam at his bench or something as a watchmaking "Big Brother" type video stream.

I'm particularly interested in how much the average watchmaker swears at his tools and the watch he's working on or other wise verbally abuses it when it doesn't co-operate.

Then for the ladies there's also seeing some arse-crack while the watchmaker's digging around under his desk yelling "Where the hell did you go you rotten invisible little bastard of a screw".

We have over 500 people online at times so you could develop quite the following over time ;)
