Hi Everyone,

I have a Seamaster Chronostop Ref. 145.007 and its one of my favourite watches in the collection. Recently, I found a pulsation inner bezel that I can buy to replace the original Tachymeter. The part is an original Omega part as some 145.007's did actually come with a pulsation dial. I just wanted to gauge to see if this is something I should be doing. I know replacing parts on an all original vintage watch is a special type of sin, but I'm not sure if this case, it matters as its an original Omega part made for this watch. I also think it would just be something cool to have. Im doing my PhD in biomedical engineering so having a pulsation dial would be a nice nod to my research. I would also like to know if adding a the pulsation inner bezel would add any value to the watch as I know pulsation variations of the 145.007 are more sought after. I would love to hear everyones opinions on this.

Hi I'm no guru here, so just giving my 2 cents:
if your pulsation inner bezel is all omega original for 145.007, matches the color of dial and as well better fits your needs/life, I just find it very cool to buy it, get it installed and use it with joy... while keeping the original one. You won't lost any value : neither on watch itself, nor on inner bezel as a part. You will just have to pay your watchmaker to do it properly I guess.
So my own feeling is go for it 😉

Oh and by the way : very cool model and nice example you have.

Thanks! Yes, thats also one thing I'm a little worried about is wether or not it will match the dial correctly. The part is NOS and my dial has a little patina to it. Don't want to spend the money just to have it look completely off.

My chronostop (which can be seen from the worn band, I wear a lot) has a rotating inner bezel. Interesting to see other variants, although the tachymeter scale makes the watch look a bit naked .

I do like the idea of getting both scales. Of course one can also get another watch for the second scale...

Although I may be finding that it is possible to have too many chronographs ...
