·My first "real" post since I have developed a huge interest in Longines especially vintages since end of last year.
During the past weekend I was able to score a Chronometer with cal. 27.0S in 18k case, 36.3mm in diameter and 19mm lugs. According to the serial it was dated to around 1955, and Longines archives confirmed invoiced to Wittnauer-Longines in May of 1956. (talking about efficiency from Longines, I emailed them last night and got a response from Jennifer this morning)
I have done some searches on line and found a couple posts from @Tony C. sharing a 27.0S that he sourced back in 2008, (that was a sweet looking watch in amazing condition btw), that the 27.0S was based on 12.68ZS, and since my example's serial was very close to Tony's example, I also assumed this was part of the 73 pieces that was chronometer certified in 1955. Beside Tony's example, I was not able to find more related information on other dial variants and further discussion on the movement.
Anyways, I am glad to share with this amazing community my newest addition, and all advise or recommendation are welcome!
Cheers,
Gary
