CHRONO STORE in NYC royaly ripped off a friend

My friend, who is a fellow watch enthusiast, had lusted over a Zenith Xtreme 1000m chrono that the aforementioned store had listed for sale.

He decided to buy it and they shipped the watch to him overseas.

When he got the watch he noticed a HUGE problem with the big date feature, were erratic numbers were being displayed. If you see the original picture from the seller the problem is already visible.

After the 27th the 7 changed to a blank space. Of course thats the one visible in the original picture from the seller. It had plenty of other issues in the big date module, like jumping from 02 to 04, then to 0 Blank, then to 05.

He was told to send the watch back were supposedly their technical department would take care of the issue. He spent 150$ to ship the watch back fully insured and when the watch was sent back to him the issue were still there but they had made them worst. Its like they had done nothing to fix the problem or just didnt know how, but still they sent the watch back as if it had been fixed. This time the right window only showed the space between the numbers.

Then he sent them the watch again for a second time, spending another $150 to ship it, and waited with his fingers crossed that ot would be fixed this time. But no, this time the marvelous team at Chronostore just flipped those discs around and sent it back as if it had been fixed, even when my friend specifically asked them to keep the watch for a long trial period, they didnt, they just shipped it back as they were not planning to loose that sale and simply suggested that he had no knowledge of how to operate the watch, how disrespectful is that.

Check out the number 4 ready to make its appearance after the 7.

My friend had a trip planned to Europe so he took the watch to the Zenith boutique for repair, forking out an extra 800 Euros that he was not planning to spend just to get the watch to shape.

Given this is a brick and mortar business, and a recognized watch reseller, one would hope that they would have taken care of the issue responsibly and in an effective matter, but they preffered to deny the issue and make the customer pay for their own mistakes. After two shipments my friend was down 300$ plus the 800 Euros for a full service. Refusal to refund was evident from their first communication.

I would highly recommend everyone to keep away from this place and refrain from buying anything from them. Simple as that, people like this only suck people out of their money with absolutely no passion for watches and no respect for collectors.

I hope Im not in violation of the forum rules by posting this bad review here, it would be in the best interest of forum members or anyone reading this, to know who they are really dealing with

Was the original transaction made with a credit card? If so there may be some recourse with them.

Well, the first mistake was buying that watch in the first place - It's not even close enough to art deco to call it cool.

I hope your friend gets it sorted out, thanks for naming the business.

I also hope Zenith fired whoever designed that watch and the management who decided to bring it to the market.

That is one crazy looking watch - I’d find it difficult enough to tell the time, let alone the other stuff that’s going on.

Still poor service tho

I think you mean this guy...and yes he has "moved on" since these designs were made...

Reminds me of this absolute classic amazon listing.

The reviews are hilarious. Save $66k by buying from Amazon, and free shipping too! What a deal! 😝

What an incredibly scummy looking dude.

These designs that Zenith put out during that period remind me of those places that take kids drawings and make them into actual stuffed animals, but in this case they gave 7 year old Billy carte blanche to design "a cool looking watch". The fact that Zenith produced them is akin to Caravaggio deciding in his later years to paint stick figures out of his own poo. These are watches that Jean-Claude Biver would look at and say "No, no, that it too extreme and distasteful. We would never sink so low at Hublot". Eyal on the other hand has already produced his own knock-off versions, and added canteen style screw on caps to the crown and pushers.

When I clicked on the thread i thought I was redirected to a coffee grinder site....

That is one hideous watch and from what I can see, a hideous reseller.

How did that Vampire get so tan?
That's Batman's toy watch. The large wheel acts as an emergency ninja star shooter.
