Someone bid in front of me on the Seamaster 105.001 in the last seconds and the timer didn't reset like it is supposed to...so that was a bummer
Auctions were a little light on the photos. Though it looks like someone got a deal on a DON 145.022.
Compared to the chrome cased Lip Chronograph that was discussed earlier and "sold" on eBay for $9000, the Lip chonograph in the Christies auction was an absolute steal at $6250.
Wasn't the 105.012 also a good deal at 7500USD? However the pictures don't show if the crown is original?
Well the 145.022 seems to be an absolute steel. Just take the value of the DON bezel in great condition and the Rolex bracelet and you're already above its hammer price...
this 14393 got hammered at 2000usd?? Is it also a steal? https://onlineonly.christies.com/s/...old-constellation-date-ref-ot-14-393-50/42123
No it isn't. Looks like quite a heavily worn example to me. Zoom in between the lugs and take a closer look at the medallion.
Sure. Christies puts them on display in their office just like they do with the watches in their typical auctions. Some of these "Online Only" watches do seem to fly under the radar
Yes that's what I'm saying. Someone got a very handsome watch at the price from 2015. I hope he/she enjoys the watch... But most likely it will be flipped rather sooner than later.
