Hello everyone, I am a new member and my English is not very good, please understand.
I accidentally found the Omega Constellation watch, as far as I know from you guys the dial seems to be genuine. The seller described the working condition but unfortunately there is no specific picture, model 168.001 and I think there is a mistake here. I quite like it and intend to buy it. However, I want to post it here so you guys can advise me. Thank you very much.

Welcome @PAPN

You are correct to ask as it is not a 37mm jumbo 168.001 but a 35.5mm dome dial 168.005 dogleg.

The watch itself looks to be in reasonable condition - although it has lived a life and showing some scratches, the bezel and lugs are still quite sharp.
I think the BOR is possibly a later addition.

Original crown.

Good looking dial with onyx inserts - you might get away with polishing the scratches out of the crystal. ( which is also original)

As the seller has stated the incorrect reference, I would want to see a pic of the movement and inner case back.
(Although I don’t think an .001 case back should fit an .005 case)

Hope that helps.

Thank you for your advice, unfortunately the seller did not provide a picture of the watch movement, I guess cal 561 but not sure. Thanks to the advice, I am more confident to make the transaction.

As a 168.005 the movt could be either a cal 561 or a 564.
Both are excellent movements, with the 561 having a semi-quickset date and the 564 having the quickset date
Before you commit to purchase, you should at least ask the seller why they thought it was a 168.001.
If the case backs are interchangeable and it has an .001 caseback this will devalue the watch significantly.
If they just took a guess at the reference and you don’t mind a bit of jeopardy then it would be up to you as to whether you’re willing to put your money down without seeing inside the watch.
