Ha, ha... you really don't want to know! It was very, very, very inexpensive for what it is. Great watches can still be found at bargain prices if you invest the time to look and establish relationships with other collectors who do a lot of looking, too.
As pleased as you are, I'm betting you didn't pay more than $7k. Congrats on the pick up, that's a very nice watch!
Oh my goodness, it was much less than that! No need for me to pay a big price for one. I do enough looking and have enough patience to find these for less. They are out there.
this is a stunning speedy, huge congrats and wear in good health and movement pic also very appreciated
It’s a really beautiful watch. Chocolate brown is my favorite color But I’m really curious to hear the price
The watch was $800. The case and crystal have a few nicks and scratches from careful use, but the dial is spectacular. It came with an Omega steel bracelet, but I don't think it is a Speedmaster bracelet. I'll post a pic of the bracelet tomorrow in hopes that someone can identify what watch it goes to.
what a watch... And it was stolen Well not in the illegal sense I suppose what a find (and at a watch show?!?)
$800?! That's a $8000 watch easily. I am surprised BOTH the seller and the middle man didn't know better. You must have done something good in a previous life.
Took me three years to find the deal I really wanted on my first Speedmaster. But essentially, you're right, I just don't have time to allocate to the dedicated hunt for a piece like this at this stage in life. That said, I'm happy someone does and that they're sharing the story and photos with us here!
Or maybe I'm doing good things in this life! There are lots of people who are happy to pass along a neat watch at a modest profit without spending a lot of time and money doing research to maximize their return. To most people, even seasoned watch collectors, all Speedmasters basically look alike. Ignorance is bliss.
