Checking a vintage constellation

Hello all,

I've come accross this Constellation for sale for 600€. It's apparently just been serviced so I'd like to know if it doesn't look too touched up or overpolished.

The dial looks to have somme scuffs and marks on it so it hasn't been redialed I dont think. Unfortunately no pictures of the mouvement and I don't even know what mouvement is in there or a case reference (168.0005?).

Does it look correct and is it worth it at that price ?

Thank you all

this is a very tired watch
the case is heavily polished and damaged
the dial is really grubby
the lume is missing from most of the indices
and by the looks of the tarnish on the indices (which is really unusual to see) there has been moisture ingress -so who knows what the movt looks like.
plus an incorrect replacement crown

I would save your hard-earned 600euros and look for a better watch

Hello,

Agree with what have been said, the scuffs on the dial being a complete no-go (especially on common Constellations from that era IMHO). This reference is desirable and not particularly rare, good hunt for the one... 😀

Thank you both, unfortunately what I was thinking. The T Swiss Made T but no tritium left is that common ?

The scuffs of the dial is really what kept me away from immediately pulling the trigger as 600€ was the range I had for a Constellation and especially one with recent service.

The hunt continues (I don't mind, it's the best part)!

I was perhaps being a little harsh when I said the lume was missing from most of the indices.
It is missing in parts but this type of index has a square notch at the end which is filled with lume rather than a lume plot placed beside the index.

Either way, for a bit more and with a little patience I’m sure you can find a much nicer watch.

That's what I'm thinking. I'd rather spend more but be really happy with the watch
