I recently picked up a Certina DS PH200 from 1968 that looks suspiciously similar to an Omega SM300.

At the very least, the bezel construction(side profile)/hands seem almost identical. This observation piqued my curiosity and got me googling. What I discovered was that there was also a strangely similar looking pie pan (and polerouter?) watch as well. One version is labeled the "DS-2 coronation" and the other just "DS"





Since there's not much written about this, I am curious to know if anyone here knows anything about it. Were the companies linked in some way or was this just a case of Certina copying successful designs?
