Hi guys

Just picked up this Certina New Art 14k for reasonable money. I really liked the fact it’s in great condition (a few scratches on the glass) and still has the original wax on the back even though it’s clearly been serviced a couple of times.

It is slightly on the small side by modern standards at 29mm without the crown(32mm with).

Ref nr. is 4009 152 which denotes a 23-20/30 cal. Serial nr. is 856 535 which puts this right at the end of the 1960’s.

Does anyone have any additional info regarding the watch? I’ve found some advertising info on vintagecertinas.ch from Sweden. Is this a model for the Scandinavian market?

THAT'S a dress watch!

No additional info, sorry. Sweden was a major export market for Certina which is probably why the advertisement was from that country. To my best knowledge it isn't a country specific model.

Did you buy it head only ?

No, it also came on a very bling gold on steel speidel metal strap that I’ve removed. It’ll get a leather black lizard strap that I’ve already ordered.

 

Always good to have a gold bracelet that match the watch because they are often hard to find on older watches like this but please post pics when its on the black lizard, that sounds great and might also be a great on a light brown ostrich in the summer
