·A very nice example of a Certina DS Automatic in the famed "turtleback" case. These watches are fast becoming desirable with discerning collectors looking for an Omega Seamaster equivalent. These are well made, robust watches with in-house movements, protected by the famed "Double-Security" system. The case is properly beefy, and at 36.5mm, and has a real heft and striking wrist-presence.
This piece is all original, including signed crown, unrestored, and unpolished. Comes with original box, and on a vintage, German-made "beads of rice" band (I have some other band options, as requested).
This "Turtleback" is keeping good time and is signed in five places--dial, crown, exterior caseback, interior caseback, and movement.

Movement: 27 Jewel Automatic Movement, Cal. 25-651
Age ca.: 1965
Condition: In very nice all original condition, keeping good time. Minor ageing on the dial and batons, commensurate with age, ditto small scratches on crystal and case. Edges sharp and unpolished.

Remarks: Certina’s international reputation as a sports brand has been founded on the DS "double security" concept since 1959. The movement "floats" on a rubber internal shock that keeps it protected from jarring.
