I am on the lookout for a Planet Ocean.
So far I’ve decided on a one with a 2500 movement as I would like a “slimmer” watch. I can’t decide on which model to buy, an original bezel or ceramic. I like the idea of a ceramic but it looks grey to me instead of a nice gloss black.
If you have read my previous posts on the subject I’m sorry for being like a dog with a bone but I don’t want to get this wrong again. I tend to jump in with both feet and then find out I’ve made a mistake.
    To summarise
    Planet Ocean 43.5 or 45.5 don’t really like 42
    2500 movement.
    Original bezel or ceramic.
Black or orange. I really prefer the blue but I have a blue Seamaster.
Probably on a bracelet but changed to leather or rubber as I like to have a full set.
    Thanks for tolerating me.

Sorry, may be being super dim here, only 3 coffees into today, thought the 2500's didn't come in the 43.5 variant? Only 45.5 or 42mm. I had understood 43.5 came about in the newer cals with the taller , less 'slim' ,cases?
Happy to be corrected, can be my thing I learned on Friday.

    Hi
Yes what you say I think is correct. All I am trying to do is show how confused I am with the options available and I am asking for ideas off owners.

I was not aware that 2500 PO was made with a ceramic bezel. i think they were either aluminium or Liquid Metal on a Limited Edition.
Correct me if i am wrong.

I’m not sure myself I thought a liquid metal was also ceramic, probably wrong again. I would like a liquid metal but they are sooo much more expensive than the standard PO.

The Planet Ocean 2500 was offered in 2 size variations: 45.5mm and 42mm. The bezels were not ceramic back then - I personally prefer this.

Omega did offer a limited edition of the 2500 Planet Ocean with a ceramic bezel and Liquid Metal injected numerals - often referred to as the 'Planet Ocean Liquid Metal Limited Edition'. These are pretty sought after and the prices reflect that. I believe they were only offered in 42mm, so if you're not a fan of the 42mm size you're probably not interested in these.

The Planet Ocean 2500 was also offered in a couple variations:
    - Black Bezel & White Dial Numerals
    - Black Bezel & Orange Dial Numerals
    - Orange Bezel & Orange Dial Numerals

The watches also came on your choice of bracelet or rubber straps.

    Hope that helps.

The Liquid metal edition is a ceramic bezel. The liquid metal defines the number inserts, not the bezel or case. Great watch but it does come with a premium

Things are a lot clearer now but I still can’t say which one I want apart from the liquid metal but again it’s all down to price as are lots of things.
    Thanks for the input.

Get them on your wrist. I personally think the 45.5 2500 is the best proportioned of the whole lot, but too big for me.

So I started hunting a 2500D full set and then lost my mind and ended up with this after a year long search.

So if I can offer any advice, it's enjoy the journey. The destination is the icing on the cake.

I’ve had a 45.5 orange and really liked it but because I fancied something else at the time I flipped it. I’m sure you must have sold a watch and suffered remorse.

I had a 45.5 orange numerals but black bezel. Loved it. I've had the 2500 D and I had a LMLE. All are amazing watches. The most cost/use efficient would be the 2500D (or C really as by now it's either not working or it does not have a problem) The LMLE is a perfect watch but I ended up liking the vintage look better on the aluminum bezel.

If I had to get one back though, surprisingly enough, would be the 45.5. I really miss that one over the other ones. Pics of the 45.5 (green bracelet, and the LMLE)
