·Hello folks
Just a word of caution. Alex in Mexico currently has an Omega Centenary for auction. On the face of it, this is a nice example of a second-series ref 2500 with the cal 333 movement which has the RG regulator, complete with sterling silver box.
However, judging from the information I have collected in my tables over the past couple of years, the case serial number 10725372 should belong to a JUB Centenary from the first series, and is incorrect for the cal 333 movement. The case back for a 333 would also have the 2500 case ref stamped below the serial number, which this example lacks. So I think there is good reason to suppose this watch may be a Franken 😵💫
I'm not saying that Alex is guilty of deliberate deception here, as it is not something which you would spot unless you had been making a close study of the Centenary and the serial numbers.
Best wishes
John
