Hi everyone,

Very happy to have new members leave.!

I just bought this Connie. I checked the dial, the movement and the case, everything seems ok from my point of view
Could you please give me your point of view regarding the cash fund? Indeed, even if the medallion seems correct, the interior beading seems a little poor. No circle is visible.
Would that be normal for a Connie from the early 60s?
I thought that kind of poor beading was for a later example

Thanks in advance

David

Hi all,

Diego is actually a bit worried about the poor perlage on the inner case back.

I must say that, for an early 60’s Connie I would have expected a circle perlage. This one seems a bit messy.
But apart from that, the rest seems ok to my eyes.

Maybe some experienced members could help him? Would be great to have @Peemacgee point of view on this one 😀

Calling @MtV to the rescue.

Seems OK to me as I've seen others like this one but let's hear what the real pros say.

I figured he meant perlage.

Do we have a serial number for the watch?

The photos really aren't that great but I can't see anything obviously wrong with the dial.
We could do with full (decent) pics of the watch , sides, movt etc.

Regarding the perlaging, with an SGR case, I would have expected a spiral effect in the perlaging but sometimes photographs make perlaging look really off.
SGR cases generally have heavier ref. no. etching but earlier ones tend to have slightly finer ref no. etching - hence asking the movt no.

I couldn’t contribute anything further that’d be of substance.

Hi everyone, thank you for your answers.
Here are some photos.
Looks like the watch is 66 or 67...

thank you David, @Diegomega59

You are about right with your dating, around late '66 would be a good estimate, so I wouldn't call a 24,41XX movement a particularly 'early' dogleg - about 'midstream'.
However, the style of writing is much clearer in these photos and show the 'finer' SGR font I was attempting to describe earlier.

I see nothing wrong with the outside of the caseback or the movement and so, IMHO, the perlaging is just a bit 'in your face' on this example and nothing to worry about.

All in all, a nice no-date pie pan dogleg. 👍

Age related pitting not likely to be found on a fake case back.

The biggest fail on the counterfeit cases is the medallion, particularly the stars and this one checks out just fine.

Can I have a close up on the dial to see how nice it is?
