Greetings guys, Recently got a cool cheap 60's diver with an FHF movement in it. Got it to my buddy with tinkering skills and he was able to finally get the case back off (it felt like it was spot welded on). It runs intermittently but water had gotten in through the crown at some point and there are some rusty bits. The case is stainless and the dial is in excellent shape so it’s worth investing a little money into for a fun watch. I picked up the identical movement NOS from eBay for $25 but it doesn’t have case screws (and one of mine is rusted and sheared off). Are these a standard measurement part or movement specific? Do I only need the screw or are there tabs too? Where do I buy these screws? Thanks, James
Looks like one of these. Not case or caliber specific AFAIK, they probably only come in a finite number of sizes. Maybe @Archer could give some specifics.
It depends on the maker. Omega consider case clamps and screws to be case parts, so they are specific to the case and will be generally listed under the parts for the case like the crown, crystal, case tube and gaskets are. For something like this, who knows. You can buy generic assortments of case clamps and case screws, and find one that fits out of that assortment. Here are some clamps: https://www.esslinger.com/case-clamp-kit-to-fit-watch-movements-100-pc/ Here are some case screws: https://www.esslinger.com/stainless-steel-bulk-screw-assortment-for-case-clamps/ No affiliation with the supplier - there are lots of these out there if you use the Google... If your case screw is the type Norm identified, then you will be looking for half round head screws, which are included in the assortment I show above. Cheers, Al
