Hi together, I am pretty sure that I have read a thread here where the numbers on the cases of Compax watches were explained: 1 Gold 2 Steel and so on. I have been searching now for a while but I cannot find that post. Does anybody remember that post and can tell me? And secondly, I am wondering if the number is always outside on the case back (talking about Compax) or is it also inside the case back? Thanks heaps! Oku
I remember that post also. Was it this one? https://omegaforums.net/threads/early-polarouter-back-from-spa.36831/#post-420246 (edit: oops, just noticed you were asking about the Compax cases. The link I gave above was a discussion of Pole/arouters)
What do we know about case reference nos. on other UG watches. I recently posted about some I've found on Railrouters... .". It didn't have a serial no. but what I assume is a case ref. no.412501/1. Since this is a 6/7 digit no. it differs from the 5/6 digit nos. which appear on UG chronographs. But I have seen similar markings on other Railrouters (865100/02 and 885100)".
Great! It was that post of timjohn! I didn't remember that it was a scan of Sala. Thank you very much!
Are there exceptions from the rule? Thinking about buying a Compax. Reference is correct, as I can see now. Serial and reference number inside. But the serial dates it to 1945 (11XXXXX). Or am I wrong with the year?
Here is a picture of the original case shape for this reference. The dial and hands may be different from the picture. Do you have a picture of this watch ?
Thanks. It is exactly that shape and also same hands. Unfortunately, no pictures by now. Did not have any camera with me. But I will post pictures when I bought it. It is a very clean example, all original as it seems, 34mm. What is it worth? It is near mint.
I would say between 2,5k and 4k (in euro) a little bit more maybe, but it's very difficult to give a watch a price without seeing it ;-)
