Case for 28.10 ra Omega Bumper help

Hi everyone,

I am based in the UK and bought this movement from a Uruguay seller on eBay. Naively I thought I would be able to find a case for it or make a case fit fairly easily, but I think I have bitten off more than I can chew here.

So a few things I am looking for help with,

Firstly I would like to confirm that the moment is a 28.10 ra and if the crown and dial are consistent? The crown and stem are not used in the temporary case just in case they get damaged.

Next, I believe the original case is a 2421-2, this is just from pictures of watches on reputable sites with what looks like the same movement. I am looking to confirm if that is the correct case?

Finally, there is a spacer around the movement, which looks like it can be removed considering I have the base movement and the spacer can I actually use the cal 340, 330 bumper cases?

I would love to give the movement a good home, at the moment it sits carefully within a temporary case.

If anyone so happens to have a 2421 case or would be interested in having this particular movement off me I am open to having a discussion.

Pictures below

Thank you!

It is not easy to know which case reference goes with a particular dial/movement combination. Many dials look alike. You could buy a ref 2421 case and find that your parts don't fit well. Unless you're a watchmaker or collector sitting on a ton of extra parts, projects like this generally don't make sense.

Looking at your dial with gold furniture and a gold crown, and given the fact that it was found without a case at a time when gold is selling at unprecedented levels, the most logical inference is that it was originally in a gold case. And obviously, it's extremely unlikely that you will find one of those.

To me the leaf hour and minute hands look consistent with a 28.10, the seconds hand has a slightly different colour, so I'm not sure about that. The dial with that sharp Omega logo looks later than an early/mid 40's production....more like late 50's

All too true. And then it can take years even decades to find things. There will always be masses of stuff waiting for a part or three.

Hindsight says, get the case and dial. Movements will sort themselves out over time.

Thank you for the responses, I will keep my search on!

I was mainly after the bumper movement, so I am not too concerned about the case being accurate though it needs to fit... So gold or stainless steel is fine.. I may opt for trying to make/get a custom movement holder for a generic case.

The second hand is originally gold or gold plated. It seems to have either lost its plating or has accumulated dirt.
