Case Clamps or Case Springs?

Hello,
Recently I finished a teardown and re-assembly of an Omega 351 bumper and now trying to re-fti it in the 2635-1 case it came with. One of the case clamps is missing but I recall the movement being fixed securely in the case when I opened it up. The clamp that it came with is pretty buggered up so I'd like to get some NOS parts. Question is, do I get the parts according to movement or according to case? I also notice references to "case clamps" and "case springs"....whats the difference?

Thanks in advance,

George

Case springs are used to stop the movement jumping around, generally by pushing the movement down from the caseback.

Case clamps are the little tabs that are screwed to the movement and engage in slots or a groove in the case.

I'll see if I can find my reference on them.

JiminOz,
Much appreciated for the info and the clarification on the difference between springs and clamps. Being relatively new to the hobby, I understand the spacer rings that go around a movement and its tabs that make contact with the case back to push the movement forward but never came across a bolt-on type of spring that actually attaches to the movement. Of course this is my first Omega rebuild so....

But I'm confused about the clamps indicated for the 2635 case. The prefix "332" is that a reference to the movement number? That movement is 2mm larger in diameter than the 351 so how does the same clamp work in the case when there's a 2mm size difference (1mm/side) between the two movements? It seems the 332-1911 clamp would be too short to reach the ID of the case when its attached to a smaller dia movement is centered within the case.

As you learn more. Some parts are referenced to older movements as parts are compatible as is the clamp.

While the 332 and it's case may be larger. The spacing for the clamp and fit into the larger case remains the same size as later models that use the same clamp

You will need to search for that clamp. As far as I know. Bent clamps (3 models under cal. 351) are discontinued

Don,
Any chance you have a dimensioned drawing(s) for those discontinued clamps similar to JiminOz has?

Here's the case clamps for your watch.

Hey just wanted to pop in and say thanks for the case clamp part# that goes with my movement/case combo. It took awhile but one came up on ebay and I should get it within a few days. Thanks
