Hi, I traced a speedy that is quite interesting. However, I noted inside the case back that "SP" is stamped above instead of after 145012-67. Can anybody with good knowledge tell if this correct? Thank you very much
Hi, It's possible that the very first 145.012 were not with "Special Pushers". I have not my MWO with me at the time. What is the Serial Number?
Hi, Thanks for quick reply. Serial Nr: 2807XXXX. In case it hasn't "special pushers" it means that "SP" has been stamped later on.
Right. 3 years is a bit over the edge, especially as it corresponds to a 145022 according to the Roman Hartmann table.
I suspect the OP movement number is 2607xxxx, a very common 145012-67 serial. Look closely at the movement number under magnification. The 6s can appear to be an 8.
The stamping above the reference number is correct. My 145012-67 (produced in february 1968 according to the Extract from the Archives) is stamped exactly the same way
Sp is not special pushers but special plonger It denotes a higher water resistance case. Archer I believe showed the pushers where the same in another thread. At least that’s the theory I subscribe too.
If the "SP" designation only showed up in watches that had pushers, I would be more inclined to agree that this is what is meant by it. But since it shows up in all manner of cases, I don't believe it (always) stands for this personally. I'm more inclined it means "Special" and this may include different things on different case types.
Except as noted in another thread the part numbers are the same for an SP case and non SP case from that time. And is on cases without pushers. Some data gets updated. 2 years ago we thought only early -76 had the “-74” dial. Turns out it appears they had them to sept 77. Also it was believed no 861 ever went to the moon. Well it was proven an 861 went around the moon as part of an experiment last year.
