Hello OF! Among my other pieces this little guy isn’t getting any wrist time so I figured I’d release it into the world. A great little piece for someone new to the hobby, a seasoned collector, or someone that just wants something with some funky applied numerals. Dial is a white/eggshell color depending on the light. I believe the case is chromed with a steel snap back, what looks like the original gasket, and a signed crown. Please note that crown is slightly crooked but still winds and sets correctly. Watch runs strong and keeps time over the course of the day, but I have not timed it exactly. As with all vintage watches a service is recommended for regular use and I do not guarantee or warranty it in anyway. Case: 32.5mm Lugs: 17mm (18mm strap squeezed in there) Case has the letter “D” stamped between the lugs at 6 o clock side. Priced at $70USD via PayPal F&F shipped CONUS. Outside of US we can discuss shipping, willing to sell internationally. Offers are welcome. No returns please. I am willing to include the strap for an additional $15USD. Please look closely at the photos as they are a part of the description. More photos can be added upon request. Any questions just shoot me a DM! Thanks for looking! -Jake
Cool! My very first watch (I still have it), was a little Caravelle like this one, a gift from my parents... FYI, the ‘N1’ on the back indicates a production date of 1971. GLWFS!
Bulova used a 17-jewel version of that same movement in the 1950s, in a bargain brand called Arday. These are a Japanese copy of a Swiss movement. My Bestfit book identifies this movement as a copy of the FHF 70 or 72 movement, in the fingerprintl section. There are minor differences in the shape of the Caravelle plates. I have an Arday with that 17-jewel movement.
Thanks for all the additional info and words of praise @dougiedude @Canuck @ulackfocus! You learn something new everyday. Watch is now sold! Thank you to OF for the space and to the buyer!
