This week I've been on a staff training excercise. This means that you and the rest of the staff have to come up with a number of plans concerning tactical issues - in this case on a battalion-level scale. Our "staff quarters" were extremely tiny and we had to make the best of it. When visitors (brigade generals, lieutenant colonels, etc.) came around to inspect there was no room at all, so I commented that this was just like the cabin scene in "A Night At the Opera". Dead silence.
Still can't believe that no-one knew any Marx Brothers films, I grew up watching the lot of them!
So many, but here's a few (not hierarchical)
1 The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp
2 Brief Encounter
3 The Searchers
4 In Which We Serve
5 Lawrence of Arabia
6 Bend of the River
8 Ice Cold in Alex
For those of you who haven't seen Goodfellas, this is one film that even for someone who is very, very hard to please, would love. The storyline is impeccable.
Psycho
Night Of The Living Dead
The Shining
The Haunting (1963)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Deliverance
The Descent
Dead Of Night
Carnival Of Souls
Don't Look Now
