What research did you do yourself?

What research did you do yourself?
I bought the watch from a dealer in Europe over twenty years ago, and I want to know its current value.

I'd suggest identifying the reference number of the model and then searching for actual sale prices, not asking prices. Assuming it's authentic, it appears to have been heavily polished on a buffing wheel, which makes it less desirable, so keep that in mind as well.

I have not polished it at all since I bought it, probably wear and tear, and I know it is authentic, I paid 8500 $ in 2001 or so, I guess, for it at the time. I tried to get the reference but could not get it. In all case, thanks a lot for the help.

That model on the bracelet was ref 2196.20.00. I've not found it on a leather strap anywhere. If you were to show the caseback, it might help to identify it if indeed it is an LE.

I don’t think it was ever available on strap, most likely it is a Ref 2196.20 that has had the bracelet melted for gold value and the head has then been very polished. With the condition I would put it somewhere in the $5-6k range because of the softened bezel and the watch not being an original reference without its bracelet. Original good condition 18K models on strap with 18k deployant clasp are around $7-8k so while quite cool, this would be slightly below that.

There’s a lot of information on these here: https://stories.omegaforums.net/the-seamaster-pro-chrono-diver-family/
