Saw this gorgeous Vacheron Constantin on a dealer website. Apart from the crown, I appreciate its simplicity But it was the caseback that intrigued me. Can anyone offer a translation?
I showed my friend he said it says something along the lines of: 'Commemorative week benevolence meeting.' And on top: 'Educators award'
My wife's mom just took a looked. Apparently the top section is the name of the professor. Apparently a Japanese name. The second part says award for 10 years of lecturing (or something like that).
Asked my Japanese friend. He said it translates to "Prof. Taro Fujiu, 10th anniversary of Majin Group"
Yep, they are Japanese. - 藤生太郎教授: Prof. Taro Fujiu - 開講十周年記念: 10th anniversary of founding/starting (a school, lecture or something) - 眞仁会: Shinjin-kai I Googled them quickly but could not find any concrete information. Shinjin-kai should be some kind of organization ("kai" means organization/group), perhaps education related. My guess would be; the watch was gifted to Prof. Fujiu from Shinjin-kai to commemorate the 10th anniversary of his lecture, which had been sponsored or supported by them.
