Late 60's early 70's Omega Geneve. To get the age and internal condition it will need to be opened up.

Would you recommend getting it serviced at omega etc? This is what my father is advising me to do. Thanks for your reply.

You could, but most of us use independent watchmakers to service vintage watches. The cost is generally more modest, and an independent watchmaker who is accustomed to working on vintage watches will often be more sensitive to preserving its vintage character. Omega's goal will be to make the watch look like new again.

In your case the cost of an Omega service will exceed the value of the watch.

You definitely should not send it to Omega. An independent can do a perfectly good job much cheaper.

I enquired with one today, half the price of Omega service. I'll be going with him, thanks for the help.
