Can Omega give you watch service history?

Hi from a rookie member in NI, UK.

I am the very proud owner of a 1997 Seamaster 200, 2514.50.00 the Omegamatic.

It has a new dial, bezel and glass fitted by Omega and looks like it just came off the shelves rather than 23 years old. I am ever so pleased with my purchase. It was serviced by omega in January of this year; but I was wondering if it were possible to enquire about it's history, providing it was previously serviced by Omega?
Thank you, Paul.

Yes. I recently had a watch serviced by Omega and they were able to give me the previous service date.

Thanks both, good to know when buying a older piece, another way to check on a bit more history 馃憤

Do you mean Norn Iron? You need to make it more obvious for the rest of us in this precarious kingdom!

Those can be a problem to keep healthy. A recent Omega service is definitely a good start but the best thing to do is to wear it regularly. If you leave it for any significant length of time the capacitor will fail. Often they are replaced by a rechargeable battery (the Panasonic MT920) which gives a longer reserve but also fails if left dead for weeks on end. The hybrid/kinetc movement is nice in principle but has issues in practice. Some Seikos use a similar technology and also suffer the same problems. I had an Omegamatic and loved it but to a certain extent it takes both the advantages and drawbacks of both manual and quartz technologies and combines them.

Mine was the silver dial version, yours is the nicer and more desirable black dial variant.

Yes Padders, Norn Iron. 'Bout ye?
Thanks for the info. Mine was serviced my Omega I know in January of this year, I was interested in finding out it's previous history in it's 23 year lifespan. I do intend to wear it regularly and not let the power drop.
