Hi
I have Omega SMc 212.30.41.20.01.03 in bracelet
And I looking to change it to one of the new seamaster rubber/leather bands. Is that possible? They are both all having 20mm lug width, So it should be fine?

The rubber straps for the new 300m won’t fit your watch.

I think you’d have to buy a non Omega rubber band.

The leather ones should fit I think.

But yea, the rubber ones are designed to fit flush against the case of the new SMPs, so those probably wont work with your older watch.

You could always go to a boutique and ask to see the straps though. Confirm for yourself in person.

OP - I’ve seen numerous photos of older SMP 300m references sporting the OEM rubber strap from the current generation SMP. Here it is on a 2220.80 (the blue version of your reference). Although not designed for your watch, it does appear to fit.

Straps made for the discontinued 42mm Planet oceans will fit your watch but the spring bars need to be slightly bent. I have done it. You're better off with the new SMP rubber straps pictured above though. They're blue or black.

Case thickness grew between your 2500 caliber generation, and the current 8800 caliber Seamaster. Try it out in a boutique, but I suspect the current generation rubber strap won't fit because it's designed to sit flush against a taller case height in between the lugs.

When I was looking to buy a Sedna gold-cased Limited Edition Omega that had a 1-off special strap shape or design, and expressed concerns about finding OEM strap replacements years or decades later, the Omega boutique sales staff did mention that Omega offers to manufacture OEM strap designs for 30 years after a model's initial introduction. If their warehouses are 100% out of stock, they'll just create a new batch. Even for a discontinued watch.

I've never tested that, haha. But if those Omega boutique sales staff's assurance is true: it presents an option where you can find research what OEM rubber straps fit your generation of 2500 SMP's. Then ask the Omega boutique to order you an exact replacement strap for that rubber strap model #.

You can still get the rubber "sport strap" for the 2254.50, so I believe you to be correct.

Hah, I had to dig through my photo album to be sure - As the owner of that wrist (and watch), I can confirm the new rubber straps fit older models. What the OP will likely need are curved spring bars, which is how I fitted this strap to my 2220.80. You can either curve them yourself (either using the spoon method or with a springbar curving tool) or just buy curved spring bars online. Then with a bit of fiddling, you should be able to get a perfect fit.
