Hello all!

I've been doing research and have not been able to find a solution. I have a seamaster 300m reference: 212.30.41.20.01.003. I've been trying to find a perfect fitting aftermarket rubber strap for this watch and have not found one yet that is under 100$. I know that zealande has one specifically for this model but don't really want to spend 300 dollars for a strap. I have a strap for my speedmaster reference: 3570.50.00 that fits perfectly but I prefer to have the speedmaster on bracelet because I couldn't find one for the seamaster. So my questions are as followed:

1. Is it possible to use the speedmaster strap on the seamaster? I tried putting it on but it doesnt fit even though they are same lug size which is 20mm.

2. If it is possible, would it fit with curved spring bars?

3. I read somewhere that i might need 1mm larger spring bars to make it fit, is this correct?

4. So does that mean that because it's a 20mm lug size, I would need 21mm curved spring bars or 20mm curved spring bars?

5. I called omega and asked about the curved spring bars but they were only able to find the 21mm curved spring bars. Anybody have a recommendation on where to purchase alternative spring bars that are high quality?

This all came up because it seems like the clasp spring on the seamaster is either damaged or dirty so the clasp seems to be locked up so I need to either buy a new clasp to use the seamaster or find a solution with using the current strap that I have.

5. Is changing a clasp spring easy? I saw a video online that made it seem to be easy.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

2. Maybe. I've heard of improper straps working between references with the same lug width by using a curved bar, so MAYBE.
3, 4. No. a 21mm spring bar is referencing the lug width. you would want a 20mm curved spring bar. going up a size would (likely) create more problems. I have no idea who makes a good curved 20mm spring bar.

Me personally; I'd go for the Zealande strap if you want a case-hugging fit. Most of the case huggers I've seen (RubberB and Zealande) are a bit more expensive. Tropic makes a solid strap by all reports, as does Artem; both would fit but would give you more of a classic fit with the gap between the strap and case. I personally like both looks for different reasons and don't think the gap is bad, but I get why some might.

Use the search function on this forum using the search words “Seamaster stuck clasp”. Relatively common problem, lots of threads, mostly from last year. Omega may owe you a new clasp!

I read the those posts, the problem is that I am not under warranty anymore. I'm past the 5 year warranty.

I did like the rubberb straps. I'm going to have to look into possibly just going for it.

When I went to pick up my bracelet with the new clasp, the AD handed back my warranty card and said he hadn’t needed it after all. He said it was a known issue, kinda like a recall, and not a warranty issue. So it doesn’t hurt to ask.

That's great to know, I'll take it to my local dealer and see what they say. Thanks for the advice!

Consider asking them if there is an Omega rubber strap that fits your reference as well?
