I've been away from the forum for a while, weighed down with work but still have not lost my passion for collecting Omega watches. I found this interesting little piece and have come to a dead end trying to research it. I can't seem to find anything similar and wondered if anyone can help me. It is a men's Omega, manual wind with a 17 jewel movement made from 18k gold.

I thought this would be a toughie, I've got nowhere so its possible that it could be a one-off?

It looks a bit like the 1970s era cocktail models

Probably not one off, but you can bet Omega did not make a lot just like this. Sometimes folks equate rare with desirable and ultra valuable, well this is probably another example of, "it just ain't so".

Hi Ash, I didn't know that Omega made cocktail watches for men? What's puzzling me on this watch is I can't find any record of anything like it. Haven't come across the pattern anywhere.

When I say cocktail models I'm more referring to the integrated bracelet, odd patterned and unusual styled models they made in that 1970s era with no model association other than "International Collection". What movement is in it?

You've definitely pointed me in the right direction. It must be from the International Collection, I'll go through everything on the vintage database and see if I can come up with more info - cheers.

It's slightly away from my original topic, but still related. I'll be going to auction next week to add to the collection, that's why I was interested in the watch with geometric pattern. I also saw this 1950's gold watch (below) that has confused me. I was not aware that Omega produced watches with scrolled lugs like this, do you think this is a re-cased watch or did Omega make lugs like these? omega-scrolled-lugs.jpg

Highly doubt that one is has an original dial or case. Might have a 30mm movement inside.

    I'd recommend a pass,

Though simple, that still ranks among the worst redials I have ever seen.

    Just depends who did it.
If it was my one year old daughter, I'd be proud about her artistic skills...
