I stumbled upon this watch and just love it. I want to find one but don't really know what I'm looking for. This was posted in another forum and the poster said its a 1968 Constellation C-type but I'm not having much luck find one. Any help would be great. Thanks

168.017? I used to own one like it with a smooth bezel. I replaced the incorrect hands shown, with batons that were white with black paint (where the luminous would be).

I imagine the one in your photo has a different ref. number (maybe later?) but the shape makes it part of the "C" Constellation series.

I'm sure a match will be along shortly. Fantastic looking watch!

FWIW, my C pictured above had a cal. 564 movement.

Sorry for the picture size, these were seller's pics.

Is the watch in my pic fully original? I have not been able to find one that looks just like the pic. Especially the magnification on the date. Thanks for all the replies.

Hi everyone, that watch belongs to me. This was a model exported to the Japanese market and is all original, I did ask Desmond to check it out and received a positive response, but if someone has extra knowledge of the Japan market models please let me know. It is a 168.027 in white gold and stainless steel with calibre 564 and 1040 bracelet. It was purchased from a Japanese dealer. It has had a routine service by a master watchmaker (trained by OMEGA) and he returned it to me running to remarkable accuracy. He expressed the view to me that it was in excellent original condition and he saw no evidence of any part swapping, everything 'matched' in his opinion.

If you do a Google search for 168.027 you will find others with the same hands. From the providence of the watch I also believe these to be the original hands.

Glad you like my pic, cheers!

If I,m not mistaken that cyclops is on the inside of the crystal, smooth on outside. I,ve seen a few Omegas with this type...much cooler than Rolex type!

Yes, Hijak, it is smooth on the outside as you say. The crystal has the OMEGA symbol and is original to the watch. It is one of my favourites, just pipped by my 105.012-65.

Please look at pages 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 of Desmond's article "The C-Shape Constellation: Omega's Child of the Sixties" and you will see 168.017's and 168.027's with the exact hands with which my watch is equipped. The watch is indeed all original.

And welcome to the forum,by the way. Just a little insiders advice...pick an avatar for yourself before a silly one is picked for you:eek:. The mods here like to mess with new people without avatars.

Thank you, I love it as much as you :) My advice would be to look for one without a polished case, with sharp edges and the characteristic brushed, mirror polished edge, brushed pattern that OMEGA used from the factory. I personally feel it is better to overpay for a good one, because the enjoyment you will receive from it is that much greater!

They don't command the same money as their cousins, the pie pans.. I have had a few of these, picked up a gold capped one and a stainless with the coined edge bezel.. Range anywher from £350-650... Depending on the conditon, polishing of the case, dial, movement shape etc..

Thanks, I figured the near 1,400 I have seen for some is a bit expensive. I will keep looking for a better deal.
