I'm no expert but since no one else has taken a crack at answering yet, I will.

I think the watch is genuine, however I'm not too sure about the "watch running 2 1/2 hours faster over a 24 hr period".

The seller has good feedback and etc and with eBay buyer protection you can't lose. The watch just needs some TLC and it'll be good for years to come.

P.S: I noticed the strap looks to be a teeny bit too small for the lugs, it's probably a replacement or aftermarket one.

This is a Deville.
I can see a damaged hand from the picture. Since the watch is gaining time so you will need a full service on the watch which will include the replacement of the hands anyway. Full service will cost you £422, not sure outside the UK price. Also don’t feel the strap is the right size for the watch, so it will cost about £300 for an omega leather strap and buckle.

So potentially you will spent around £700 to make it running.

I'd say it's already at or past it's value, especially considering it needs a service.

Servicing is available much cheaper than that and I don’t know if you have noticed but Omega aren’t the only people selling watch straps so I think your £700 figure is a little pessimistic but nevertheless this watch isn’t one to go for. You could buy it for, say, £125, throw £250 at it to get it working at and end up with something worth £225 maybe. It doesn’t add up.

I speak from experience btw:

Thanks everyone, appreciate the input. I passed but am still looking to find a nice vintage piece for my wife. eBay has a few but they are quite pricey.
