    Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum. What a great source of information.
I own some vintage watches, and now looking to buy my first Omega.

On eBay i found this Seamaster De Ville. I really like the sleek look of the model, and the cross on the dial.

For as far as my newly found knowledge goes, it's seems like a reasonable offer.
Serial number etc. are not provided, but the seller (ELADY01) seems legit.

Could you please advice me on this one?
Pictures below, listing here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/322326954219?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

    Cheers!

Not sure why that bracelet is on it. It's painfully obvious that it doesn't fit.

I'm concerned it's not an original and it's not worth the money.
You're right about the bracelet, it looks weird.
But i would wear it with leather straps anyway.

The crown looks wrong and that looks like a generic bracelet and end-links with an Omega clasp.

I'm looking on a small screen so it's hard to be sure, but the dial appears correct.

I'm only seeing one picture on the listing though. Would need pics of the case-back and movement to confirm everything is correct.

You either need to ask for a picture of the movement and caseback, or take a gamble that they're correct then.

The positive about eLady is that they have a good return policy. If you buy it, have a watchmaker check it out and it isn't right, you can send it back. Read the policy before buying, though.

eLady have some nice watches but their claims of 100% authentic have to be treated with some caution
    The watch looks authentic
    The crown looks authentic
The bracelet is authentically stainless steel
It's unlikely they left the factory together
    That's some oversized crown...

    +1 on all the above.

The price (less the 10%) is decent if you can find the proper crown for it. I don't know if the bracelet is original Omega or not (the clasp is original). If the bracelet checks out and can be separately sold, it can bring $50 to $100 by itself.

The value on this piece may be there, but it's a bit of a gamble and you're going to need to do some work on it.

If I'm buying from eLady (and I have), I would rather spend a little more for a piece that I know is all original and in better condition.

As member of Zissou's crew, would not a diving watch be more appropriate for you ::confused2::
