Can anyone determine what this is

Hello everyone-
Bought this watch years ago now. It’s a manual wind vintage Omega from circa 1961. I don’t have the tools to open the back up (which I realise is exactly what is needed to determine the model and movement calibre) but any help would be appreciated.

At the moment, it's simply a "Gents gold plated manual wind wrist watch".

I'm thinking it could be a locally cased example so where you are located and where the watch originated will help a bit.

The only conclusive answer though will be inside the case.

Hello and thanks for your response. I live in Australia (last 9 years) but bought the watch in the UK about 20 years ago. I can’t remember much about it. For some reason calibre 600 is in my mind but that could be bogus.

The answers you seek are hiding inside that case back (reference and movement numbers). It’s an attractive watch and if it hasn’t seen a service in the last 20 years, it’s time to treat it to a spa visit.

I reckon that you are right in all respects. It actually keeps bloody excellent time. Does my idea of a calibre 600 make any sense for the period and look? I must get a look inside.
