Hi all I'm new here but I do have a few different watches but I don't have a omega and I'm after a seamaster 600 from the 60s.
From what I've found out getting something outside of England isn't really a option because of the tax so I'm left with the likes of Ebay unless there is someone on here from England that may have one for sale.

I have the opportunity for this one but I'd like a honest opinion on the watch because I don't want to buy a replica or a frankenstein so any help would be welcome.

Kind Regards
Steve

Welcome to you! Glad you joined us.

A good first inquiry post!

That watch looks completely righteous from here. Perhaps the Forum Omega Brain Trust will soon comment further.

The gold plated watch models like this one aren't high value Omega watches, yet fraudsters do use creatively use them to produce scary Frankenwatches for Ebay auction consumption. So, it's good to study potential purchases and make inquiry if one feels insecure.

The case has wear on high spots, but the watch is attractive enough that I'd give it a home here in the Home For Wayward Watches and would service it and trot it out for wearing on occasion. I like the styling and appreciate the gold appearance even if it's not solid gold. Gold seems to be out of style generally and stainless steel is favored these days.

Thanks so much for your reply
I don't want to buy a rubbish watch so I'm in no hurry, I'm not to worried it's gold in colour if the rest is correct.
Can I put on here what price it's up for sale or isn't that allowed

It appears to be authentic, but I would never recommend a gold-plated watch. They are cheap for a reason. These were entry-level cases made for people who wanted a gold-colored watch for occasional wear. Not made to last.

It's fine to post prices, BTW. In fact, it's hard to provide good advice without it.

I would say that's at least 2x the market value, although when I comment on threads from the UK, I'm always told that watches are more expensive there. Given that the movement looks dirty, I assume it's not serviced, so you can add that cost as well.

Gold-plated/filled cases are just not desirable to collectors, so they are hard to sell. I think you should be able to buy a nice stainless or gold-capped watch for that price.

In this thread, @Davidt said he was going to be selling several watches. Maybe you should contact him.
