Hey guys, There is a Seamaster Master Coaxial that I am thinking of purchasing that was fully serviced by Omega after a water leakage last month. When Omega does that sort of service, will the watch be back to perfect internally, or once water gets in there is a good chance of problems down the road? Thanks! Greg
If it was sent to Omega (ask for the service receipts and invoices), they should have replaced anything and everything that was not up to factory spec. The watch should be good to go.
Functionally, I would expect it to be fine, since omega does give you a nice warranty after the service. Cosmetically, if the owner didn’t pay to replace things like the dial, it may show signs of the damage.
If the watch was sent to an Omega service center, it should now function like new. As part of a full service, Omega would have cleaned and lubricated the movement, replaced any damaged components and seals, restored the watch to original factory specs, checked timing accuracy, pressure tested it, and cleaned and polished the case. The work is covered by a two year warranty. As the poster above noted, there might conceivably be some cosmetic damage that the owner declined to have repaired, but the watch should function normally from a mechanical perspective.
