Caliber 321"Ed White" 311.30.40.30.01.001 Speedmaster thread ,,,,
A thread for people to share their experiences of the 2020 released 321 ‘’Ed White’’
Worth also linking to this review and the original launch article thread from Fratello.
It’s fine for other 21st Century 321 releases to find a home here as well.

Some photos of an Ed White Display at Bienne Omega Museum in 2016. I am not sure what watch they had sourced for the 105.003. It looks like a standard NASA original print photo and cover letter (@SpeedyPhill will know). Ed White was wearing two as we know so maybe they should have had two in the case.
I know it has been said before but as the scans for the new issue came from Gene Cernans 105.003, which flew three times I think and was the last watch on a moon walk (with a friend :0) perhaps this should be called the Cernan and not the Ed White. I think for the Apollo missions Cernan wore his original 105.003 and also a newly issued 145.012. I am not sure what is on loan from NASA and which asre allowed to stay with the Cernan family? - it looks like the 105.003 is on display at Bienne now = https://omegaforums.net/threads/gene-cernans-speedmaster.91891/page-2#post-2112464

That NASA photo is a reprint, but an original reprint (NASA worm was introduced in 1975 and changed again in original NASA globe logo in 1992)
Time-period original NASA photos were printed on hard cardboard KODAK paper and have the official NASA photo-number in red on the cover 😉

NASA-issued Speedmaster chronographs remain NASA property, held at the NASM - National Air & Space Museum in Washington D.C. and from time to time the Omega museum in Bienne gets a few on loan to be put on display!
Eugene Cernan wore the 105.003 (NASA n° 28) during Gemini IX, Apollo 10 and Apollo 17 (during both Apollo missions underneath his space suit on a steel mesh JB Champion bracelet as his "lucky charm").
It was indeed this NASA n° 28 which was scanned by Omega (X-rays tomography) in their marketing campaign for the modern day " 321 "

In the new Omega museum, the historic watches sit in large container spheres (safety reasons) and are harder to photograph, so here's Cernan's NASA-issued 105.003 (n° 28) as it was on display in 2020. ( Photos #MoonwatchUniverse )

I thought I should put one up for the Ed White original as well from Gemini 4. Two watches worn and the visor protection for the gold filter 'Space Walk' sun / glare shield.
Thanks @SpeedyPhill / Moonwatch Universe for the pic.

Another image of Cernan's 105.003 (NASA n° 28)... watches were far easier to be photographed in displays at the old Omega museum !
(for comparison Richard Gordon's NASA-issued Omega Speedmaster 105.012 (NASA n° 57) on an Apollo space suit glove).

I have a dozen photos showing NASA astronaut Ed White post-flight Gemini IV in June & July 1965.
Always wondered which NASA-issued Speedmaster he exactly still wore on a black velcro and later during that period June 1965 - January 1967

Here’s my EW321 in front of the Gemini 4 capsule. This is my repost from a Speedy thread. Pardon the duplication if you’ve seen this already.

Two modern Ed Whites saying hello at WatchPro Salon 2023 London yesterday after an interesting presentation by Robert-Jan Broer.
