Cal 552 advice needed

I recently purchased a 552 movement on the Bay at a reasonable price for an upcoming no-date franken SM300 build. Upon receiving it giving it a quick untrained eyeballing it appears OK but something I noticed is the lack of the usual arabesque detailing around the circumference of the top of the movement. Seems a bit strange could it have been polished out, or did some movements come like this?

Sorry but I can't really post pics at this time having only an iPhone for photos. Any advice from those experienced with these moments would be great.
