Hi everybody, I would like to share a find on the internet and to have your thoughts on it. Haven't bought it yet, but it is very tempting! Someone sells a standalone cal 321 with dial (seeing the serial # should be ST105.003) and hands. Everything looks original (well, should be in that used condition ) Can the dial be saved? What is it worth (all together)? Thanks a lot! Yann
Call me mad but I actually think it looks kinda cool, the hands are wrong so factor that in, and I don't mean damaged, I mean incorrect. Having said that the dial actually reminds me a LOT of the Apollo 11 45th titanium model and although obviously don't pay much as its worth a lot less than a mint dial, I would wear that and enjoy it.
Can you explain? I think you're right, but because of the "Professional" on the dial. What do you see at the movement?
if it can be serviced without parts for around $ 450 and it is from a speedmaster with factory confirmation , I see it at $ 900. kind regards. achim
It's nice, but looks as though someone tried to age or patinate the dial, and also tried to scrub off the "professional" and pass it off as a pre-pro.
Likely covered by the astute comments above. Professional is clearly on the dial, so I'd guess it can't be a 105.003 (straight lug) but a 105.012 or 145.012(less likely given the serial), which would be the only possibilities.
If the dial left the factory on the movement then it is a late 105.012-64 or an early 105.012-65. Close T marks on the dial. I like these dials, but as others mention, not valuable. It's all very well saying $900 but if the owner puts it on eBay it would go for more.
I'd have to agree with Space, if this were to go on eBay it will sell for much more than $900. I'd bite the guys arm off to get a complete running 321 at that price.
I wanted to start a thread about the movement and dial. also it still does not fit my 105.012-66 because it is too early i still bought it, because i also did like the dial. I hope i can somehow remove the white shades near the word professional. I had a nice talk with the former owner who is collecting other Chronographs and Chronometers, but is not interested in Speedies, he said he bought the dial and movement from his watchmaker, who also did service it before he sold it. will have to see what it looks like in flesh, maybe i will put it in the 105.012-66 CB Case until i found the correct movement for the case or the correct case for this movement And yes, i did pay more as 900 USD.
