Spotted a UG 1940 cal 262 dress watch, that seems to have a few, albeit a nice cream dial that seems original. The first is obviously the crown, which I have doubts about. Next, the case seems to be wrong. If that's the case I wonder if the plexiglass is original.

What does the experts say? Go or not go?

I think the logo on the crown is the Edox one, so clearly not UG.

Experts say "Please get pictures of the inside caseback and movement before considering a purchase." :) That will help you to determine if the case is correct. Lots of watches have movements in poor condition even though the outside may look OK. You need to know what you're buying.

Yeah probably a good idea. Hasn't gotten back to me. But I think it's a pass for me.

The watch seems ok to me, the plexi doesn't seems to have the central logo but IMO it's not important.
Considering the crown, since it's not a waterproof crown, you can find it easily on ebay at a low price.
If the watch isn't expensive, considering the very good condition, I would buy it.

That's not a 40s UG, with the applied logo on the dial. It's later. I'm not very familiar with the later style cases. How do you know it's a 262, seller says? I picked up a small seconds time only not too long ago, assumed it was a 262, instead a 128. Anyhow, those are all minor details, if the price is right and you like it. If it were me I would want caeback and movement pics. Wouldn't worry about the plexi at all.

What’s the asking prices on this?

Interested to know the market on these (partly because I just purchased a similar one - albeit with waffle dial and a 2-hander - at auction last week).
