Dear respected members, i am being offered a C-Connie with Dauphine hands and Cal. 561. The dial fails MOY. Do you think it is original or redial? what about the hour markers? Shouldn't they be black on top? Thank you very much.
I'm not sure if there is anything wrong with this watch other than it looks to have been ridden hard and hung up wet. Price better be pretty cheap to want to take a chance on this one. gatorcpa
In Desmond essay about Constellation C case. I don't see any dial with straight M in CHRONOMETER like that. http://omega-constellation-collecto...onstellation-c-shape-omegas-child-of.html?m=1 He completely missed it, I guess .
Maybe. But I have seen this combination before. Note that crown is not correct on this example: Not all the same on these. gatorcpa
I was referring to the hands with black inserts and markers w/o black inserts. Never seen that before.
Chronometer not centered under automatic and the letter spacing seems different from line to line. I was guessing redial but know squat about the variations of these.
These were probably painted markers originally. I've seen cases where there was water damage or peeling where someone just took the rest of the paint off. I think that's what happened here. I though the watch was in poor condition overall and would not recommend it regardless of the dial. gatorcpa
That could be Evan and agreed, this watch has lived a hard life. It wouldn't be too difficult for the OP to find a much nicer example
Thank you very much for all your replies. Price of this is on the low end for C-Connies (given the state of the case it should be, of course). Personally i tend towards a redial (though a well executed one). Of course i didn't wanted to influence your opinion, hence the open question. Paint removal of the markers seems reasonable, if the markers had damage. I will not buy this watch, as there are too many problems with it. Unfortunately it isn't that easy to find Dauphine handed C-Connies. If somebody knows of a nicer example for sale, it would be much appreciated.
