Buying vintage Seamaster for my Father-In-Law

This one is on my list, my concern is that it is a bit heavier looking than I had hoped for (and a few mm wider than the 33 or 34 than seems to be the smallest I see around).
The rose gold @cristos71 is selling is incredibly classy, a beautiful watch. I have a wrist that is just on the large size of average, and I too think 36 is a sweet spot. I have a 33mm that wears a little small, but a 34mm that is very comfortable. I think you'd be fine 34-39 mm.

I have very small wrists for a bloke and I think even I would find a 33mm case a bit small.
I wear 34mm Constellations and 36mm really wouldn't be too large.
One thing to note is that some watches 'wear bigger' due to the dial/case ratio and case style.
You mention Seamasters - do you have a budget in mind ?
Dome dial Connies are simple and elegant like a Seamaster but tend to be a little more expensive.
Here's a couple of 34mm dome dial Connies with different cases - same wrist but the hidden crown version wears bigger
Hope this helps

A 34mm watch is going to wear incredibly small for most men...

Well, it has little to do with what "most men" think, but how the OP feels 😉
Granted, I'm squarely in the girly-wrist-segment, so I'm probably just a little sensitive here 😁

The fact is that watches wear differently. Take a modern Nomos, for instance. These are between, what, 33mm and 38mm? Still, they wear MUCH bigger than that!

I have a couple of 32-33mm watches, and these couldn't be more different in feel. They are from the same era, but while one disappears on my wrist, the other one commands a different presence.

In this example, the black ring on the dial and wider bezel makes the Tissot appear (and feel!) like a much smaller watch.

I think the OP should try on some different watches, before commiting to a specific agenda, be it size, style or era.

Oh to live in a world without jerks...

If you don't like jerks, you've come to the wrong place 😁 😁
