Buying sources and geography

I recently made a thread about authenticity and asked a question about basic red flags. Thank you again to those who answered with the hard but necessary message about looking at tons of examples of reliably genuine watches because there are so many ways to engage in fakery.

With that in mind, a related question: rules of thumb for a site like eBay. I’ve noticed that there are many Moonswatches showing up from China. In another thread at the end of last year (“https://omegaforums.net/threads/watch-making-in-china.178065/”) there was a lively discussion about the development of horology and the talent and quality possible to be found there. But, apart from new brands of watches being developed, I can’t help but have misgivings about the secondary markets for Western brands showing up from a Chinese seller on eBay. Given China’s reputation for knock-offs, would it be a good idea to just avoid a watch that appears in groups from a Chinese source if I were in the market to acquire a Moonswatch? I expect unreasonably low prices should always indicate that one might proceed with extra caution.

Any other sources that members already know to basically avoid like the plague? Or does it come down to seller reputation alone versus geography?

I avoid India (a.k.a. Mumbai specials) also.
