Hi All:
An acquaintance is offering this Speedmaster from the 1950s for sale. I was wondering if people here had opinions about authenticity. I thought I have a good eye for redials from lurking on this site for a very long time but apparently there's a lot more for me to learn!! Thank you so much 馃槄

Are you sure it's a Speedmaster.....it does look a lot like a Seamaster with an original dial to me?

Oops I typed Seamaster and my computer kept correcting it to seamster. I mistakenly "fixed" it to speedmaster ::facepalm1::

Unusually good condition I would buy it
What a nice watch. Dial sure looks good to me.
Looks like it even still has the orginal crystal...馃グ
Thank you!! Should I, down the road, look at fixing and/or replacing the hands that appear to be slightly tarnished? I haven't seen the watch in hand yet -- will be able to do so tomorrow. But I just want to get a sense of what might need work if anything. I don't need the watch to look brand new and I am aware that sometimes photos accentuate different things than in person. So I am not necessarily bothered by the hands, but if I get it serviced down the road, is that something I should be looking at?

I wouldn鈥檛 touch it. You won鈥檛 see that on the wrist and changing hands will reduce vintage appeal and value IMO. It鈥檚 very good condition as is.
