I offered and I hope they accept.

I am optimistic about 1,2 and 3... I believe they are better than the photos indicate.

And I've been pretty cautious with my buying, so if it all goes belly-up then this can be my deferred noob-tax 😀

Maybe I missed it but do you know if they’re running and keeping time?

If they aren't running, whatever you offered is too much. I hope this works out for you

Well it's a nice sound-bite but clearly it makes no sense. Would a hundred euros have been too much, two hundred...? I suppose it might be for someone who doesn't want to get there hands dirty, doesn't want to do any legwork looking for spare parts, and doesn't want to ever resell anything, but sometimes the journey can be as enjoyable as the destination (plus hands-on is the quickest way to learn about anything).

Sure there's risk here, but that's offset by some other things I picked up from the same seller. And what are the odds that six watches, all part of a large collection, all wearing nice straps with light-wear, and all cosmetically clean, are all non-runners. I'd be surprised if any if them had problems that a regular service couldn't fix. Anyway... the lots bought and incoming so I'll just have to wait and see.

I think sometimes you have to roll the dice, and in this case maybe you'll make a small profit, maybe not. Seems to me that profit isn't the main incentive for you and so you'll have a fun journey figuring out what you've bought and what to do with them. Hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised when you open the package 😀

I'll be uploading pictures of them all, warts and all, when they arrive. There's actually four other watches in the same group, but they're not Omegas and I can say three of them are certainly worth little and the other one I suspect I'll be keeping. I'll post it here now, not so much for comment, more for posterity !

I'm enjoying your thread here w154 and am anticipating hearing more when you have watches in hand and can evaluate them and show us the best of the lot.

It's the 2317/13 that is the stand-out, and the Eterna is actually really nice too although sadly it's not a full steel case.

Oh I'm having a deja vu! I had the same oppotunity around two years ago. Even the watches where somehow nearly identical. Although mine all came with their boxes but not papers.

I knew that there where one or two dudds in this collection, mainly the seamaster calendar with the damaged dial (middle bottom row) and the ladies omega. The rest turned out to be pretty good. I sold three of them on eBay, two here on the forums and one privately to a friend of mine.
It was quite the hassle and after all fees and shipping etc I came out with maybe 300-400€ on top of what I initially paid. It was an interesting experience for me and the main reason I bought the lot as I wanted to see how selling watches over the internet would work, and the difference in methods and cost's, eBay, forum, private etc.

I hope all plays out for you, but it's more of a learning experience then a financial gain. In my case at least it was. I don't regret it though.

Cheers,

Max
