Hi OF, For sale is my Buren WWW watch, one of the British issued dirty dozen watches. Dial: 100% original, arabic numerals with thick radium markers Case: unpolished original chrome case which is correct for this watch, very mininum brass showing on the case and has never been re-plated Movement: Buren Grand Prix cal 462, previous owner told me that he had the watch serviced a couple of years back, but there was no documents to confirm it so I'll leave it here with no service history. The watch is keeping good time and winds very smoothly. The watch still retains all the original parts, engraving on the case back is deep. The watch is oversize at 36.5mm excluding crown, with the original 18mm fixed bars. The fixed bars are commonly replaced on vintage military watches to accomodate normal spring bars. This particular example is quite an early example with the original hands covered in radium, very nice and puffy radium! Most Buren hands examples were found with the radium filling just in the middle of the hands, though correct, those are the later hands that are available as service parts by MoD. I find these hands with the puffy radium are the most attractive on the WWW examples. The rarity on the Buren is moderate according to http://www.time514.com/BritishX.htm This watch in particular, hands down, the best Buren WWW I've ever seen. The watch is sold as is head only, no box or papers. Priced at REDUCED USD1,500 + shipping. Paypal or bank wire only. Thanks heaps Andre
Stupid question perhaps but a bump for this watch that I love the look of. If only I had the budget it would have been sold. Now the question. Why are these known as WWW? Now I know it's not world wide web but....
