·Hey all,
In order to fund another purchase, I would like to offer this Buren chrono-matic for sale. It is an uncommon version of this classic watch, with the Buren dial, instead of the more common Hamilton dial. Personally, I always found this appealing, since the calibre 11 movement was based on the Buren microrotor. The watch is from about 1969 and overall in good vintage condition. It is all original, except maybe the crystal (I honestly just don’t know).
Case: the 36mm case (without crown) has seen some polishing in the past. There are some light scratches, especially on the caseback. Nothing major though. Height: 13.3mm. Lug-to-lug: 41mm.
Dial and hands: Close inspection reveals a few light and small discolorations on the white of the dial (see photo’s). The lume dots show degradation, but light up properly (and briefly) under UV light. The lume in the hands lights up a bit longer.
Movement: the cal. 11 is functioning well (see recent timegrapher info on the photo below). The chronograph functions properly. Service history is unknown though, so a service is recommended.
Crystal: some superficial scratches that should easily be polished out. As mentioned: I’m not sure it is original.
Accessories: The two straps shown in the photo’s are included in the deal. The buckles are not original.
Asking price is 2699€ (now €1999). Shipping (insured) and taxes are at buyers’ cost. The watch will of course be packed securely. I am located in the Netherlands. Previously, I have bought and sold some watches on this forum, of which references are available.
Thanks Omegaforums for allowing this sales thread!
